There are numerous Shakespeare festivals held annually the world over. This page is dedicated to giving the full details of as many Shakespeare festivals as possible – it will continue growing, so remember to check back!

Canterbury Shakespeare Festival – Started in April 2015 this project was designed to put on fun and exciting Shakespearean plays to the public in Canterbury’s stunning historic surroundings.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival – Elizabethan, classic, and contemporary plays presented in three different theatres.

Alabama Shakespeare Festival – presenting classical works, contemporary plays, musicals, and new works commissioned by the Festival’s Southern WritersProject.

Utah Shakespearean Festival – offering summer and fall seasons of classic and contemporary plays and musicals.

Idaho Shakespeare Festival – founded in 1977. Season calendar, plays, and company information.

Stratford Festival of Canada – repertory theatre festival producing, to the highest standards possible, the best works of theatre in the classical and contemporary repertoire, with special emphasis on the works of William Shakespeare.

Texas Shakespeare Festival – established to provide theatre professionals, students, and the public the luxury of working on and seeing the world’s dramatic literary masterpieces.

Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival – dedicated to performing the works of the Bard.

Shakespeare Festival of Dallas – dedicated to the cultural enrichment of the community through live, professional productions offered free of charge at Samuell-Grand Park.

California Shakespeare Theater – annual season of professional classic theatre, from June to October at the Bruns Amphitheatre in Orinda, CA.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival – dedicated to producing the best of Shakespeare and the classics in an accessible, affordable manner. Ticket and program information.

Georgia Shakespeare Festival – professional repertory company performing Shakespeare and other enduring authors.

Colorado Shakespeare Festival – productions playing on rotating repertory in Boulder.

    Please include the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Connecticut. This festival was prominent for about 30 years until it ended in the 1980’s. But they are making a comeback! Come and see:

    Also, Shakespeare Schools Festival in London is AMAZING!! It is a festival of school children from grammar school to high school performing on stages around the UK! Here is their link: Our students from Arizona performed there five times –we were the only US school to participate. It was life changing! 🙂
